If you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident in New South Wales, your physiotherapy is very likely covered by Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance, and you do not have to travel to a clinic to receive it. Physio Visit Care brings CTP physiotherapy to your home across Western Sydney, so you can recover in comfort while your body heals. We handle the paperwork with your insurer and treating doctor, so you can focus on getting back to normal life.

What is CTP physiotherapy?

CTP physiotherapy is rehabilitation for injuries caused by a motor vehicle accident, funded through the compulsory Green Slip insurance that every registered vehicle in NSW must carry. Under the Motor Accident Injuries Act 2017, most people injured on NSW roads can claim defined statutory benefits for up to 52 weeks, regardless of who was at fault.

Those benefits include treatment and care such as physiotherapy, so approved treatment generally costs you nothing out of pocket.

Why choose home visit physiotherapy after a motor vehicle accident?

After an accident, getting to a clinic can be painful, stressful or simply not possible, especially with neck, back or lower-limb injuries, or when driving itself now feels difficult. Home visit physiotherapy removes that barrier entirely. Our physiotherapists come to you, assess you in the environment where you actually move and rest, and build recovery around your real daily life. Recovering at home also lowers the general stress of the process, which matters when your body is trying to heal.

How the CTP claim and referral process works

Starting CTP physiotherapy is simpler than most people expect. The usual steps in NSW are:

Step 1:

Report the accident and lodge a claim with the relevant CTP insurer. SIRA’s CTP Assist service (0485 839 450) can help if you are unsure who to contact.

Step 2:

See your GP, who assesses your injuries, completes a Certificate of Capacity and can refer you for physiotherapy.

Step 3:

Receive a claim number from your insurer. This is what we need to begin treatment.

Step 4:

Begin physiotherapy. We assess you, agree a treatment plan and start your recovery at home.

Step 5:

We invoice your insurer directly for approved treatment, so there is no out-of-pocket cost to you.

You may be able to start before your claim is approved

You do not always have to wait for a full claim decision to begin. In NSW, once you have notified your injury, an insurer may approve one GP consultation and two treatment consultations, such as physiotherapy, before a claim is formally made. This early treatment is at the insurer’s discretion and applies within the first 28 days of the accident. Starting early matters, because prompt physiotherapy after an accident is linked to better recovery and a lower risk of long-term pain.

We work with your insurer, doctor and rehab consultant

Recovery goes more smoothly when everyone is on the same page. We liaise clearly with your treating doctor, your CTP insurer and, where one is involved, your rehabilitation consultant, keeping treatment aligned with your plan and your return-to-work goals. Our reports and updates are timely and practical, which keeps approvals on track and your recovery moving.

If your injury happened at work rather than on the road, see our workers compensation physiotherapy page.

Mobile CTP physiotherapy across Western Sydney

We are a fully mobile service, so every session happens where you are, at home, and there is never a clinic to travel to. We cover Western Sydney and the surrounding areas, including Liverpool, Mount Druitt, Blacktown, Campbelltown, Parramatta, Canterbury-Bankstown and the Hills District.
